SCURL Groups
collections & Metadata group
This group has broad membership from across SCURL member institutions and meets on a quarterly basis. The group holds regular events highlighting innovation and emerging practice in collections development. Current projects include implementing the Last Scottish Copy Policy and providing guidance to the SCURL community on metadata developments.
All SCURL member institutions are eligible for membership. Please contact us to find out more about getting involved.
copyright & legal group
This group is currently led by a committee with representatives from the universities of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Glasgow Caledonian and Strathclyde. The group holds summer and winter conferences, usually in June and December. Recordings from previous events are available on the SCURL YouTube channel. The committee would warmly welcome new members from other SCURL member institutions. Contact us if you would like to get involved.
Equality, diversity and inclusion network
The SCURL EDI Network was formed in October 2021 and has representation across member libraries. The group meets quarterly and is currently working to produce a toolkit to support member libraries in developing consistent approaches to EDI across key areas including student engagement, collection development, data gathering and recruitment. The group published a glossary in May 2023 as the first component of the toolkit. The glossary will underpin the other toolkit work packages, providing a shared understanding and application of terminology across SCURL members.
swop: scottish working forum on official publications
SWOP is a forum for librarians, information professionals and publishers working with official publications in Scotland. SWOP was originally constituted as part of SCURL and has been operating through an independent committee for some years now. All SCURL members are welcome to be involved in SWOP activity and to attend the group’s programme of events. Visit the SWOP website for more information.
